4 Ways to Give Back to the Earth this Month

Now, more than ever before, people across the nation are looking for ways to give back to their communities and the earth as a whole. While we may not always realize the impact some of our everyday actions may have on the environment, making small changes to daily routines can actually make a big difference. In celebration of Earth Month, we challenge you to give back to the planet by trying some of our favorite tangible ways to make a difference.

Walk or Ride Your Bike Instead of Driving

Turn on your favorite playlist or podcast (ours is Girls Gotta Eat) and hit the pavement. With Spring in full swing, spend less time in your car and more time enjoying the outdoors. Not only is walking or bike riding good for your overall health, you can also cut down on carbon emission by taking the green way to get around.

Recycle Your Empties

Empty water bottles? Cleaning supplies? Beauty products? Reduce waste by recycling your empties. Be sure to soap, wash or rinse any empty containers and packaging to ensure it’s cleaned of any product residue before recycling, and take out any easily removable parts such as the lid or nozzle. Pro tip: get creative with your beauty empties and use them as planters, jewelry holders and to store your TELETIES as easy access for your next workout.

Reduce Your Plastic Use

Another quick and easy way to do your part is to be more mindful of plastic use and to choose brands that are also mindful of their ecological footprint and processes. Swap disposable plastic for reusable everyday household items like water bottles, reusable cotton rounds and refillable beauty products. Choose brands like Cora, who use organic ingredients and KORRES who harvest, extract and formulate internally and support over 200+ farm families while doing so. Shop both brands at your nearest SOS location.

Conserve Your Energy

Put the lights down low and help save the planet by conserving your energy. Not only is it good for the planet, it turns your home into a relaxing oasis. Set up some of your favorite fragrant candles, ours are Otherland, and turn your space into a beautiful zen den.
